Pat Robertson is Insane
On "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos Pat Robertson made some pretty outrageous statements. You're surprised I know. Sounds like Crazy Pat has been sniffing glue again cause he's gone waaaayyy out on a limb this time.
Federal judges are a more serious threat to America than Al Qaeda and the Sept. 11 terrorists, the Rev. Pat Robertson claimed yesterday.
"Over 100 years, I think the gradual erosion of the consensus that's held our country together is probably more serious than a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings," Robertson said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
"I think we have controlled Al Qaeda," the 700 Club host said, but warned of "erosion at home" and said judges were creating a "tyranny of oligarchy."
Yeah Pat, and that whole "separation of Church and State" has been "rendered quaint", right? I mean the founding fathers were all nut-job Jesus freaks like you who wanted the 10 Commandments posted in public spaces and pushed for mandatory bible study, right? Well, actually no but it would take way too long to refute all of Pat's revisionist history here.
But Pat wasn't finished. Equating Federal Judges with terrorists was just a warm up. After that he decided to share his belief that Judge Ginsburg was a communist. Then, for his grand finale, he said that there should be a religious test for government office and that Muslims should be barred. Christians and Jews were OK though.
Crooks and Liars has the video here if you want to suffer through it.
Folks, I know I beat on this dead horse a lot but it needs to be said, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Dr. James Dobson and their ilk are the "American Taliban". They want to take us to a make believe land (circa 1950) where "Good and Godly"(tm) men, not women, ran things the way Jesus told them to. They stir the frightened and easily led into a frenzy that makes them easy for politicians to mold, spindle, and mutilate at their whim.
If your elected representative is not denouncing this then you need to call and ask why not. This is one time when I can clearly say that there is no grey.
